About Daoust Fire

My twelve year old son, Josiah, came up with the name as a play on words. Our last name is spelled Daoust. Josiah approached me in 2021 and said, “Dad, I have the name for our business”, said with a large excited grin……, “Daoust Fire!” So simple yet so meaningful. Instead of “Dousing a Fire” we “Daoust the Fire”

Three years soon passed and I continued to work for large fire corporations when I was approached by four people I care about and who obviously believe in me.

Josiah- Now fifteen years old, one evening blocked me at the large sliding doors of a Publix®️Supermarket, in Greenacres Florida. “Dad, what are we doing?”

No longer smiling optimistically but visibly frustrated with the non-start of Daoust Fire.

A good friend- whose advice I still take and has helped me along the way.

Another good friend- who used this reverse psychology phrase as a means to push me forward, “I will see you at your 40th retirement party!”

My wife- the person who knows me best every praise and every character flaw after nineteen years of marriage. She galvanized the decision when one evening she confidently walked up to the brown wooden dining room table and slapped her credit card on it and departed to the kitchen sink while I held my head in my palms supported my unmoved elbows. I raised my head and said, “Fine, let’s do this!”
